Prelude to a Revolution (or) I See A Fire in the Horizon

It was in the ordinary time that I saw it. A world opened up to me and I was instantly immersed in the awe and splendor that comes with experiencing something that no one else has ever known. This world is one of darkness and pain. Truly the essence of a scar, this world exists in constant fear that the past will return and a growing terror will burst into reality once again to annihilate everything that breathes. The people of this world exist in fragmented tribes, each with it's own way to keep it's people safe if/when evil should once again intrude upon their shores...but deep down, all who have heard the tales or that have lived  to see the terror in their great grandparent's eyes know that it's a futile endeavor. All seems lost, but life continues toward what seems like the inevitable end of their story.

In short, it is a dark a desperate time for the inhabitants of Di-el.

In this time though, as harsh and cold as life may seem, there are sparks forming. Some have withered into solitary embers and others have caught into small flames, like a candle wishing to give birth to an inferno. If the land and it's inhabitants are dark shades of brown, grey, and green, this new life and hope appears as hot reds and yellows, reminding this bleak world that there is hope for the future yet. All is not lost.

I have seen the hopeless world. The cold spares none.
But I see a fire in the horizon.

The Flamebrand will save us all.
